
It is a campaign for water conservation and water security in the country through a collaborative effort of various ministries of the Government of India and state governments. The campaign focused on the accelerated implementation of five key interventions.

AMRUT aims to provide basic services like water supply, sewerage, urban transport to households and build amenities in cities which will improve the quality of life for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged. The components of the AMRUT consist of capacity building, reform implementation, water supply and sewerage management, storm water drainage, urban transport and development of green spaces and parks.

The aim of the mission is to accomplish the twin objectives of effective abatement of pollution, conservation and rejuvenation of National River Ganga. The NERUDP focuses on improving urban infrastructure and services in the northeastern states of India. It aims to enhance water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, drainage, and roads in selected cities. The program also emphasizes capacity building for urban local bodies, ensuring sustainable urban development while preserving the ecological balance of the region.

The National Water Mission, launched under the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), aims to conserve water, minimize wastage, and ensure equitable water distribution across sectors. Its key objectives include increasing water use efficiency by 20%, promoting sustainable water management practices, and encouraging basin-level planning to address the impacts of climate change on water resources.
